Crowning the hill above the Alcazaba, the Castillo de Gibralfaro was built in the 14th century to house troops and protect the fortress below. The ramparts walk delivers a 360° panorama of the bullring, port and Mediterranean. The uphill path from the centre is steep but rewarding; bus 35 saves your legs.
