Compact, sunny and flat along the seafront, Málaga is a dream for travelling families. Distances are short and almost everything is walkable or a quick bus ride away.
Base your days around the calm city beaches — La Malagueta is closest, while the coves at Pedregalejo are gentle and have playgrounds nearby.
For rainy moments (rare as they are), the interactive Principia science centre, the colourful Centre Pompidou and the automobile museum all keep children engaged.
Round things off with a ride on the harbour Ferris wheel and an ice cream on Muelle Uno. Spanish family life runs late, so do not be surprised to see local kids out at 10pm.
